Article Processing Charges

JAICI is an open-access journal. Readers pay nothing, and the cost of editing, peer review, production and hosting is met by an article processing charge (APC) paid once an article is accepted.

Standard charge

The APC is USD 1,000 per accepted article. It covers editorial handling, peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, online hosting, metadata registration and long-term archiving. Nothing is payable at submission, and nothing is payable if a manuscript is rejected or withdrawn.

Reductions

Who qualifiesReductionAmount payable
Corresponding author is a current World Research Union member at the date of submission20%USD 800
Corresponding author is based in a low-income or lower-middle-income economy in the current World Bank country classification50%USD 500

Reductions do not combine. If an author qualifies for both, the larger one applies. Eligibility by country is based on the corresponding author's institutional affiliation as given in the submission.

How to request a reduction

Ask for the reduction at submission, or write to the publisher at info@wrunion.org before the manuscript is accepted. Include your WRU membership number or the country of your institution. Requests made after acceptance cannot be considered.

Fees and editorial decisions

A request for a reduction has no influence on peer review, on the decision to accept, or on how quickly a paper is published. Every manuscript is assessed only on its originality, significance, method and compliance with the journal's ethics policies.

What the APC includes

There are no further charges for:

  • submission or peer review
  • page count or word count
  • colour figures
  • supplementary material
  • corrections needed to keep the scholarly record accurate

Payment

The APC is invoiced by WRU London Ltd after acceptance.
