Open Access Policy
Every article in JHAI is free to read, download and share from the day it is published. Readers need no subscription, registration or payment.
1. Definition
The journal follows the Budapest Open Access Initiative: articles are freely available on the public internet, and anyone may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text, subject to the licence below.
2. Licence
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0). Anyone may copy, redistribute, adapt and build on an article for non-commercial purposes, provided the authors and the journal are credited and any changes are marked. Commercial reuse needs the authors' permission. Full terms are on the Copyright and Licensing page.
3. Copyright
Authors keep the copyright in their articles. On submission they grant the journal a non-exclusive licence to publish, distribute and archive the article and to deposit its metadata with registries and preservation services. The journal does not ask for a copyright transfer.
4. No embargo
Articles are open on the day of publication. The journal does not run a hybrid, delayed or subscription model.
5. Self-archiving
Authors may deposit any version of their manuscript (preprint, accepted manuscript or published version) in any repository at any time, with no embargo. We encourage deposit in institutional and subject repositories and linking from ORCID and Google Scholar profiles.
6. Article processing charges
A charge of USD 1,000 applies to each accepted article, with reductions for WRU members and for authors from lower-income economies. Details are on the Article Processing Charges page.
7. Publisher
JHAI is published by World Research Union through WRU London Ltd, registered in England and Wales. See the Publisher page.
8. Preservation and identifiers
Preservation is described on the Archiving and Preservation page. The journal records ORCID iDs for authors who supply them and makes article metadata available for harvesting from first publication. DOI and indexing status are on the Indexing and Abstracting page.
