Open Access Policy
The Journal of Healthcare Analytics and Informatics is a fully open access journal. All articles are freely available to read, download, and share immediately upon publication, with no subscription, registration, or payment required from any reader anywhere in the world.
1. Definition of open access
The Journal aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of open access: free availability on the public internet, permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, subject only to the license terms set out below.
2. License to readers
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. The license permits any user to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the work in any medium, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the original authors and source. Full details are on the Copyright and Licensing page.
3. Author retention of copyright
Authors retain full copyright in their published articles. By submitting a manuscript to the Journal, authors grant the Journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive the article, and to deposit metadata and full text with indexing partners and preservation archives. The Journal does not require, and does not accept, any transfer of copyright from authors. Authors may freely deposit the published version in personal websites, institutional repositories, and subject repositories without further permission from the Journal.
4. Immediate open access
The Journal does not apply any embargo. Articles are made openly available on the Journal website on the day of publication. There is no delay between publication and open access; the Journal does not operate a hybrid, delayed, or transitional open access model.
5. Self-archiving and repository deposit
Authors are entitled to deposit any version of their manuscript, whether preprint, accepted manuscript, or published version, in any repository, at any time, in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license terms. The Journal places no restriction on the choice of repository, the timing of deposit, or the version deposited. Authors are encouraged to:
- Deposit the published version in their institutional repository;
- Deposit in subject-specific repositories where one exists for their field;
- Share the article through scholarly networks, including ORCID profiles and Google Scholar;
- Reuse the article freely in their own future work, including books, theses, lectures, and websites.
6. Article processing charges
The Journal levies no article processing charges and no submission, review, or publication fees on manuscripts submitted on or before 31 December 2029. Open access publication is free for all authors during this period, regardless of country, institution, or funding status. Full details, including the Journal's fee position for manuscripts submitted from 1 January 2030 onwards, are on the Article Processing Charges page.
7. Funding and sustainability
The Journal is published by World Research Union, a not-for-profit academic organization registered in Malaysia and India. The Journal's hosting and infrastructure costs are underwritten by the publisher. The publisher does not derive income from advertising, sponsored content, or the sale of subscriptions. Full details of the publisher and its funding model are on the Publisher page.
8. Long-term preservation
The Journal is committed to the long-term availability of published articles, regardless of any future change in the Journal's operational status. Preservation arrangements, including the Journal's participation in distributed preservation networks, are described on the Archiving and Preservation page.
9. Persistent identifiers
The Journal records ORCID identifiers for authors who supply them and exposes full article metadata for harvesting from the date of first publication. The Journal's arrangements for Digital Object Identifiers and its indexing position are described on the Indexing and Abstracting page.
10. Effective date and revision
This Open Access Policy is effective from 27 June 2026. The Journal reviews this policy annually and updates it as practice evolves. Material revisions are dated.
